An adjustable memory foam bed is made up of two parts - an adjustable bed base and a memory foam mattress. Adjustable memory foam beds can vary in price and quality, for instance always check the depth and density of the memory foam used.

The adjustable mechanism is operated by a handset, which can either be infra-red or cabled. And the number of moveable parts in a bed frame varies from three to five.
A five-part frame will provide more of a contoured shape than a three-part frame, and so may be more comfortable for you.
The frames and the electric motors that power the movement should be rated according to your weight, so as to provide the best possible user experience and prolong the life of the bed.
Seven point check list on how to compare adjustable beds
Sleep Apnea - by allowing the head to be raised, preventing the tongue from falling back and blocking the airway (a natural way of readjusting the airway).
Bed sores - by distributing the pressure on certain parts of the body (particularly the elbows and heels) and not blocking blood flow and oxygen to the tiny blood vessels near the surface of the skin.
Arthritis - by aiding blood flow with an improved sleeping position. A massage unit may also help.
Hiatis hernia - by raising the head section of the bed 6" - 7" to help prevent stomach acid re-entering the throat, therefore preventing damage to the esophagus.

Adjustable Beds are weird! Every shop
sells a unique product, every web site is unique and generally gives you
no clue on prices, but lots of choice and many odd words.
Let me introduce the Abberley web site - everything is priced, there are just enough options to make it do what you need a bed to do, and all the awkward terms are explained so that even I could understand it. Behind the web site are real people that are friendly, helpful and want to solve a problem rather than pocket a sales commission. We have "medical reasons" for a slightly customised adjustable bed (the height), as well as comfort reasons, so we needed clear solutions to some problems - many of the other "web sites" had no idea, whereas Abberley had solutions.
A stress free home demonstration allowed both of us to try the adjustable bed, and, even better, Abberley could sell us the "odd sized" fitted sheets that we needed for our "coupled" single beds. The bed duly arrived as promised and the old bed removed - followed by a bit of re-organisation and my first good nights sleep for over a year.
Abberley provided us with a very professional and friendly service - the sort of service we all remember. but often struggle to find these days.
